Throughout the centuries man, with enormous effort and constancy, has built on hostile rocks a landscape unique for its audacity and harmony: Le Cinque Terre. Only recently reached by a road, these villages perched on boulders or laid at the mouth of a stream, have maintained their original charm. The Cinque Terre area, all the way to Portovenere, is a natural maritime park in which rare animals and vegetation are protected. Its panoramic paths are frequented by hikers and strollers alike. These paths are easy to find and follow thanks to the work of the Italian Alpine Club (C.A.I.). Mountain bike and horseback riding are allowed on some paths.
Distance: 50Km. Tips for reaching Le Cinque Terre : train 50 minutes-during the summer ferry 1.30 h.
